Kwankwaso Praises Tinubu Over Fresh Military Deployment In Kano

An All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain, Dr Musa Illiyasu Kwankwaso, has praised President Bola Tinubu for establishing a new army battalion and an artillery regiment in Kano State to strengthen the military’s response to banditry and other security threats.

The new formations, the 24 Battalion in Tudun Wada and the 311 Artillery Regiment in Dambatta, are expected to boost military operations in Kano and neighbouring areas.

Kwankwaso, a member of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, described the deployment as a proactive response to emerging security threats and said it had renewed residents’ confidence in the Federal Government’s commitment to protecting lives and property.

In a statement made available to journalists on Saturday, he also commended the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu; Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf; Minister of Defence, Christopher Musa; and Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle, for their roles in strengthening security in the state.

He said the strategic positioning of the military formations would improve the capacity of security agencies to respond to banditry, terrorism and other violent crimes affecting communities in Kano and neighbouring states.

“President Tinubu has demonstrated that he cares deeply about the security of Kano and its people. The establishment of these new military formations is a clear demonstration that the Federal Government is prepared to take decisive action to protect lives and property,” Kwankwaso said.

He argued that Kano, given its population and economic importance, required a strong security structure capable of responding quickly to emerging threats.

According to him, the new formations would complement existing military structures and provide additional protection for residents.

Kwankwaso said the intervention showed the administration’s commitment to addressing the state’s security needs, adding that residents would appreciate the Federal Government’s efforts.

He also urged communities in Tudun Wada, Dambatta and other areas to cooperate with military personnel and provide credible intelligence to security agencies.

He said community support would be critical to the success of the new formations and ongoing efforts to contain criminal activities.
