Belinda Olubunmi Ajoke Disu, widely known as Bella Disu, marked her 40th birthday on May 29, 2026, drawing messages of goodwill from family, friends and associates across social media.
Disu, daughter of businessman Mike Adenuga, has maintained a relatively low-profile public image despite her family’s prominence and deep business interests.
She serves as Executive Vice Chairman of Globacom and Vice President of the Mike Adenuga Group, which has investments spanning telecommunications, energy, banking, real estate and infrastructure.
Over the years, she has also been involved in various business partnerships and corporate engagements, including collaborations linked to major international firms such as Total, BNP Paribas and Alcatel through the group’s business network.
In addition to her executive roles, she is the founder of Cobblestone Properties & Estates Ltd, which has delivered luxury developments including Sisi Paris Tower, Niger Towers, The Bella’s Place, and other projects in Lagos.
She also played a leadership role in the development of the Alliance Française Mike Adenuga Centre, inaugurated in 2018 by French President Emmanuel Macron. Her contribution to arts and culture earned her the Chevalier dans l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres award from the French government in 2019.
Disu has also been recognised locally and internationally, including features in the Choiseul 100 Africa ranking of young economic leaders and recognition under Lagos State’s Eko100 Women initiative by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu. She remains active in arts advocacy and is a patron of the Musical Society of Nigeria.
On the personal side, she is married to venture capitalist Jameel Disu, and they have three children. Her 40th birthday was marked with private celebrations in Lagos, attended by close family and associates, alongside widespread online congratulatory messages.
Ahead of the milestone, she shared a countdown on social media, culminating in a private dinner held at a Lagos venue. As part of the celebrations, her foundation also launched the inaugural “Bella Disu Open,” a junior tennis tournament for under-14 boys and girls, with the final scheduled at the Lagos Lawn Tennis Club, Onikan, where winners are expected to receive scholarships and sports-related prizes.
At 40, Disu continues to balance corporate leadership, philanthropy, and cultural initiatives across her various roles within and outside Nigeria’s business landscape.
