PSHAN set to unveil VIVO Health digital platform to widen healthcare access in Nigeria

The Private Sector Health Alliance of Nigeria (PSHAN) is set to launch VIVO Health, a digital platform aimed at improving how Nigerians access healthcare services by connecting patients, hospitals, pharmacies, diagnostic centres and insurers within one system.

The platform, expected to be formally unveiled at an event bringing together government officials, healthcare operators and private sector leaders, comes as concerns persist over fragmented healthcare access, poor provider visibility and limited information for patients seeking care.

According to a statement from PSHAN, VIVO Health is designed to serve as a single digital access point where users can locate verified healthcare providers, access services in real-time and navigate insurance options more easily.

For healthcare providers and institutions, the platform is also expected to offer data tools intended to improve coordination, service delivery and operational efficiency.

PSHAN added that the initiative is backed by its network of private sector leaders, including Aliko Dangote, Jim Ovia and Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede, whose support has helped shape healthcare financing and partnership efforts in Nigeria.

In a statement released ahead of the launch, PSHAN’s managing director and chief executive officer, Tinuola Akinbolagbe, said the platform is intended to address persistent access barriers in the country’s healthcare system.

“VIVO Health reflects our belief that access to quality healthcare should be simple, reliable and within reach for every Nigerian,” Akinbolagbe said. “This platform is a critical step toward building a more coordinated and responsive healthcare system.”

The launch event will feature a demonstration of the platform and discussions around partnerships that could support adoption across the country.

The unveiling comes at a time when Nigeria is pushing broader digital health reforms to improve efficiency, transparency and access to care. If successfully deployed at scale, VIVO Health could become part of efforts to bridge longstanding gaps between patients and healthcare providers nationwide.
